Mars, Earth and a kid

The other day, I went to school to teach about the planets. 10-year-olds. Gotta love 10-year-olds!

About half way during my time with them, one of them comes up to me and says:

– I’ma eat all of Mars.
– You like chocolate, hm?
– No. Mars! The planet.
– Oh, how’s that gonna work?
– No problem. Once I get close to finishing I’ll be so fat that I’ll go in orbit around the sun.

I start grinning. He just continues.

– You know, like you told us: Mars doesn’t get lost. Not even when I chew good.

I laugh out loud. That last one wasn’t mine, you know.

– It’s gonna be epic! Got the moon go in circles around me. Just have to make sure I turn once a day so’s people get a good night’s sleep…

Forget that he mixed up Earth and Mars in the end there. There’s intrigue, inspiration, fantasy, creativity, transfer knowledge – honestly, how awesome is this, huh?

Just had to share it with you. I hope you don’t mind. 🙂
