A thermal map of Europa

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 82

I know people who would like to use that kind of technology on their house to see where it’s leaking warmth.

As it is, this image shows one of Jupiter’s moons. Europa is a cold, cold place. Yet, there is evidence for a briny ocean under the thick outer layer of ice. There may even be life there.

Eat your heart out Bothnians! At least, your ocean does lose its ice during the summer months. 😉
